Welcome to Two Mile
State School
As a new family to our school, we hope this offers you some
information about our P & C.
Two Mile runs a small but enthusiastic P & C. We have
regular meetings and usually meet twice per term, including our AGM which is
held at the beginning of the school year. All parents and community members are
encouraged to attend meetings.
P & C Membership, all parents and community members who
attend meetings are invited to become members, membership is a requirement for
all of our volunteers (for insurance purposes).
We hold a variety of fundraisers throughout the year. The P
& C uses these funds to purchase resources to be used in and around the
school. Previous fundraising has provided us with our multipurpose court,
musical instruments, playgroup equipment, funding for school camps etc.
Our major fundraiser is selling ice at the Country Music
Muster. This is our largest event and but does earn us a fair amount of money,
so we need as many volunteers as possible. Everyone who volunteers is able to
enjoy the entertainment once their shift is finished. The Country Music Muster
is a yearly event held on the last weekend of August in the Amamoor State
Forest. As this is quite a large event there are a number of jobs which need to
be done, including before and after the event.
Other fundraisers include sausage sizzles, sno cone days,
pie drives in winter and if anything else reasonable comes up, we may offer
that as well. On sports carnival days we offer morning tea and lunch (sometimes
pre ordered). We also run Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and end of year stalls.
Occasionally we will run a disco where dinners are available.
The P & C also run working bees to help spruce up our
school throughout the year.
For all of these events to happen we require volunteers to
help out. You may have some skills or machinery etc. that would be useful and
many hands make light work.
When anything happens that the P & C are running, you
will receive a note home (on blue paper). This note will state it is from the P
& C and may require information from you. If so, please return this to the Pumpkin Box.
What and where is the Pumpkin
Box? This ‘hole in the wall’ has a painted pumpkin around it and is located
on the wall to the right of the office door. This is only for P & C related
forms (although if something for the office goes in it, it will be taken out
and placed in the office mailbox as soon as possible).
